Community Outreach and Networking in New York, Long Island and New Jersey

Acarya Abhiramananda Avadhuta (SS NY Sector) has taken the lead to present Ananda Marga at various public programs, network with various organizations, and benefit the community by introducing the benefits of yoga, meditation, spirituality, vegetarianism, and yogic lifestyle. Acarya Anudhyanananda Avadhuta, Acarya Kovid Brahmacarii and other Acaryas based in New York often join the programs and connect with people and propagate Ananda Marga. They have made a good relationship with the Queens Chamber of Commerce, the Indian Consulate and the India Permanent Mission to the United Nations, the World Yoga Community, and various other non-profit and professional corporations and embassies.

The Queens Chamber of Commerce (QCC) organizes various programs benefitting non-profit organizations, businesses, libraries, and the community. The Ananda Marga Acarya’s have introduced to them the benefit of yoga and meditation. Recently, the QCC facilitated and promoted to its members and the public a program introducing meditation at the Ananda Marga Women’s Welfare Department in Queens Village. The program was very successful with about twenty people attending.

The Queens Chamber of Commerce organized an award ceremony for the business community on December 4, 2019, at the Terrace Park Hotel, in Flushing Corona Park. The chief guest was the executive director of the Port Authority, Mr. Richard Cotton. Acarya Abhiramananda Avadhuta presented Ananda Marga in the field of health and nutrition. Many high officials and council members of the City participated in the program. Dada met with the president of the Chamber of Commerce.

The Queens Chamber of Commerce organized a program on December 5, 2019, in Astoria Blvd in their corporate center at the Queens Chamber Office. A professor at Columbia University was the main speaker in the program. Numbers of executive people participated in the program. Ac. Shambhushivananda Avt., Ac. Abhiramananda Avt., and Ac. Anudhyanananda Avt. participated in the program. Ac. Shambhushivananda Avt. has introduced Ananda Marga Gurukula to the chief operating officer of Queens Chamber, Joanne Persad, and other officers of Queens Chamber.

The founder of Shikshayatan Cultural Center, miss Purnima Desai, organized an annual program at the Hindu Center auditorium in Flushing, NY. She has invited Ananda Marga as special guests. Ac. Abhiramananda Avt, Ac. Shankarananda Avt., and Ac. Anudhyanananda Avt. have participated in the program. Several high officials, Indian-American, and Dr. Vidyashankar Vidyalankar, representative of the India Consulate participated. The chief guest of the program was Naveen Shah and Ragshree Shah. Ac. Abhiramananda Avt. introduced Ananda Marga. All guests and participants were so inspired. The excellent work of Ananda Marga in the community and New York City, Mr. Naveen Shah, and a number of artists from different cultures have been introduced to Ananda Marga. One of the most significant achievement was that a special artist team, Mr. Arindam from New Jersey, more than ten artists and musicians have come in close contact with Ananda Marga. Mr. Jagarnath from Manipur, a good performer of Manipuri Dance, was introduced to Ananda Marga. Many delegates were introduced to Ananda Marga and came closer to Ananda Marga.
