In Guatemala, the Ananda Maya Ashram is led by Ac. Satyamitrananda Avt. continues to thrive and grow. During the first months of 2026, the Ashram has welcomed students from many corners of the world, and it is becoming increasingly clear that interest in spirituality is rising. Most of the visitors are in their twenties, recent graduates taking time off to travel, and Guatemala has become a popular destination for young seekers.
Many arrive with a general curiosity about spirituality, but they are often pleasantly surprised to discover that Ananda Marga presents spirituality as a practical science. They show great enthusiasm in learning about bio-psychology, chakras, the sattvic diet, fasting, and other yogic practices. Meditation sessions are often followed by lively discussions, where students eagerly ask questions about the deeper workings of the mind and consciousness. It is inspiring to witness their openness and sincerity. There is a strong feeling that this generation is especially receptive to Baba’s teachings in a way that earlier generations perhaps were not.
Dada Satyamitrananda is also making regular visits to El Salvador, where the margiis are enthusiastically assisting with pracar activities.
