A significant transition is underway at Ananda Kanan as Brother Sudhiira completes his service as caretaker and hands over responsibilities to Brother Tushya. Brother Tushya is an initiated brother (Śikṣāvrata) of Ác. Parinirvanananda Avadhúta, who is currently serving as Rector of Ananda Kanan. Dadaji first met Brother Tushya in Florida and encouraged him to attend the Summer Conference 2025. During the conference, Brother Tushya became deeply inspired by the spirit and potential of Ananda Kanan and soon thereafter decided to relocate and offer his service there. His family has been granted temporary accommodation at the Lake Cabin to support this transition.
Alongside this change in caretaking duties, important infrastructure improvements have been completed. The long-awaited septic system for the Lake Cabin is now fully functional, with a new septic line running to the septic lake (cesspool) located on the slope from the White House parking area toward the public road.
Brother Tushya has already begun contributing actively to the development of Ananda Kanan, particularly in the area of agriculture. He has initiated the creation of a planting room and has started the first seedlings and seed trays in the greenhouse behind the Dining Hall. In addition, his prior experience managing Airbnbs in Florida is expected to be a valuable asset as Ananda Kanan continues to expand its retreat programs and hospitality services.
