The India Independence Day Celebration was organized in Manhattan, New York, on 17 August 2025, with the support of the Consulate General of India and several other community organizations. This annual event is one of the most vibrant and impactful celebrations of Indian culture in the United States.
By Baba’s divine grace, Ananda Marga was honored with an invitation to participate in this grand program. The event brought together a large and diverse audience, with more than 40,000 participants and over 200 organizations representing different regions, cultures, and heritages of India.
The colorful parade showcased the rich traditions, civilization, and cultural unity of India before many distinguished guests, including senior officials, city leaders, and prominent members of the Indian-American and American communities. It was a moment of great pride for every Indian present, as the spirit of freedom and cultural harmony filled the atmosphere.
Ananda Marga’s participation was deeply appreciated. By His grace, our team of five Dadas and Didis successfully managed our part in the program and represented Ananda Marga’s ideals of universal love, service, and spirituality. Our presence received coverage in print and electronic media, allowing us to share Baba’s message and introduce hundreds of people to the Ananda Marga ideology.
This event also helped us to strengthen our community network among various cultural and civic leaders. During this period, we attended several programs organized by the Consulate General of India in New York, as well as in Floral Park, Hillside, and Long Island.
We are pleased to share that many local leaders, including city officials, the mayor, assembly members, and representatives from different organizations, expressed their appreciation for Ananda Marga’s work. With Baba’s blessings, Ananda Marga continues to grow and serve actively in New York City, conducting numerous programs, projects, and social service activities throughout the year.
