The Monterrey Regional Retreat was held from September 18–20, 2026, at El Buen Vivir in Los Lirios, Arteaga, Coahuila, Mexico, about two hours’ drive from Monterrey. Surrounded by mountains and pine trees, the retreat center offered fresh air, silence, and a cool climate—a welcome change from the warmth of Monterrey.
The retreat was organized by Ac. Priyakrsna Brc., Avtk. Ananda Siddheshvarii Ac., Ac. Ragatmananda Avt., Ac. Cirananda Avt., and the Monterrey and Monclova Margiis. A total of 35 people participated, including twelve Margiis from Monterrey, a van carrying twelve Margiis and newcomers from Morelia, and two participants each from Monclova and Mexico City.
Seven Acaryas attended. In addition to the four organizers currently based in Mexico, Ac. Abhiramananda Avt. (SS), Ac. Diiptimanananda Avt. (PRS and RS Monterrey), and Ac. Shiilabhadrananda Avt. (SB) came from the USA. They also participated in the RDS held after the retreat.
The program included spiritual practice, classes, and Akhanda Kiirtana. Ac. Shiilabhadrananda Avt. gave a class on Neohumanistic Education, while Ac. Diiptimanananda Avt. spoke on Prabhata Samgiita, Kiirtana, and the importance of awakening devotion for spiritual progress.
Avtk. Ananda Siddheshvarii Ac. led an inspiring workshop that helped newcomers, Margiis, and Acaryas become better acquainted and encouraged them to build units, strengthen community, and continue their spiritual practice. Ac. Abhiramananda Avt. met with the Margiis and gave inspirational talks. Following the Akhanda Kiirtana, Ac. Cirananda Avt. gave a talk in Spanish that was appreciated by both Margiis and newcomers.
The retreat center provided accommodation in three buildings. Dharma Cakra and classes took place in a spacious octagonal meditation hall with room for up to 200 people.
The family who owns El Buen Vivir, together with their staff, warmly welcomed the participants and helped with cooking, cleaning, and other needs throughout the retreat. The mother and son who own the property also joined some of the programs. At the end of the retreat, both received initiation.
University Talks by Ac. Priyakrsna Brc. in Monterrey, Mexico
Ac. Priyakrsna Brc. is currently giving a series of talks at the Monterrey Institute of Technology (Tecnológico de Monterrey, ITESM). The talks take place on October 9, 16 and 23. This series is a valuable opportunity to present the spiritual and social philosophy of Ananda Marga to students and professors at the city’s most prestigious university, one of the leading institutions in Latin America.
The talks are held in the Espacio de Reflexión, a hallmark of the campus created as a quiet refuge where the Tec community comes for meditation, reflection and introspection.
