The Margiis in Canada began the new year with a blissful gathering on January 1, 2026. Brother Mehool kindly hosted the celebration at his home. The program included three hours of Akhanda Kiirtana, a video of Baba, and a delicious collective dinner. Sixteen Margiis attended the event, creating a joyful and devotional start to the year.
Later in the month, a winter retreat for beginners was held in Bradford, Ontario, from January 30 to February 1. Twelve people participated in the retreat, including the main organizers, Brother LFT Nirmal and Sister Madhuvidya, along with two Ácáryas, Avadhútiká Ánanda Kalyánmitrá Ácáryá and Ácárya Dayashiilananda Avadhúta. The retreat was a uniquely joyful experience for all participants. Highlights included interactive discussions on topics such as love—both conditional and unconditional—as well as biopsychology. Participants also enjoyed a long walk along the local country road on a cold but beautiful sunny day. One of the participants, Brother Bohdan, generously offered everyone a traditional bania spa experience, which added a memorable element to the retreat. The group also enjoyed warm fellowship over breakfast, lunch, and dinner, sharing a variety of delicious meals together.
On February 7, a virtual first-phase seminar was organized for French-speaking Margiis. The seminar covered three important topics: Sádhaná, Tantra and Its Effect on Society, and Human Search for Real Progress. Six Margiis attended the online program and participated with keen interest in the discussions.
Later in the month, the Toronto Unit held its first seminar program at the home of Brother Mehool on February 22. Twelve Margiis attended the event. Each session began with thirty minutes to one hour of Kiirtana followed by a short meditation, which participants found deeply beneficial before entering the seminar discussions. All three seminar topics were explored interactively.
During the program, Dada Ratneshji from the United States also joined via Zoom and offered an engaging additional class on the origin of language. The gathering concluded with Dharma Cakra and a video of Baba performing the Varabhaya Mudrá. After sharing a delicious dinner together, participants departed with a deep feeling of inspiration. It was a truly blissful Sunday spent in collective spiritual practice and fellowship.
