PCAP Volunteer Camp at Ananda Kalpataru, Connecticut

Ac. Kovid Brc. organized a PCAP Volunteer Camp from August 4 to 29 at Ananda Kalpataru in Connecticut. The camp featured a month of dedicated service, training, and spiritual practice. A total of 23 participants joined at various times, including two families with children, creating a vibrant and cooperative atmosphere.

Participants stayed in tents at the Ananda Kalpataru Master Unit. The camp infrastructure had new canopies, a mosquito dome, and a simple Dharma Cakra hall. Using plastic pallets, the brothers insulated the tents from the ground and leveled the camping area for greater comfort and safety.

Days began early with Paincajanya and continued with four daily meditation sessions, Kiirtana, and a comprehensive routine of karma yoga. Much of the physical work focused on improving the campsite—felling trees, uprooting stumps, clearing brush, hauling water, cooking, and creating new forest trails. The participants also explored nearby natural spots, including a beautiful stone bluff that offered a panoramic viewpoint over the forest.

Following the Local Full-Time (LFT) training style, the camp provided a structured environment of discipline and selfless service. Several of the young men attending had come into contact with Ananda Marga during the past year through pracár programs conducted by Ac. Kovid Brc. in St. Louis, Missouri, the Washington DC area, and at Queens College in New York. One brother from St. Louis had received initiation during Dada Kovid’s visit earlier this summer, while others were friends and new seekers inspired by that wave of outreach.

Among the participants were Keval and Vishnu, who had been meditating for a while, and families including Sukhadeva with his three children, and Jiiva Devii with her two children. Their active involvement in all aspects of daily life—from cooking to construction—brought an atmosphere of enthusiasm and teamwork.

The combination of spiritual discipline, collective service, and practical training made the 2025 PCAP Camp an inspiring success. Participants left with renewed energy, a stronger connection to the ideals of Ananda Marga, and a deeper sense of spiritual purpose.
