Dr. Steve Landau recently returned from a week in Baton Rouge, La., working with AMURT and AMURTEL (Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team and Ladies’ Section).
Landau, president of AMURT USA, and other volunteers helped those whose homes were damaged by flooding. They ripped out drywall, removed heavy, waterlogged furniture and mattresses and performed other necessary tasks.
Landau and others operated under the guidance and shelter of the Jordan United Methodist Church, led by Pastor Fredrick Sweetwyne
AMURT continues to need volunteers and funds to pay for their transportation and food.
