Food Distribution in Queens, New York
In cooperation with a local NGO and in partnership with the Food Bank, Ananda Marga is now distributing groceries weekly to nearly 2,000 people near our Sectorial Office in Flushing, Queens, New York. Since the fall of 2025, Acarya Cakrapani Brahmacarii has been tirelessly engaged in this twice-weekly service activity, helping families receive much-needed food support with dignity and care.
This ongoing initiative reflects the practical spirit of selfless service and demonstrates how collective effort can bring hope and relief to many people in challenging times.
Afterschool Program Flourishing
The afterschool program at the New York Sectorial Office continues to thrive Monday through Friday with the participation of 12 children and several dedicated volunteers. The children enjoy a nurturing environment that includes playtime, healthy vegetarian meals, homework assistance, and loving care until their parents return from work.
A special appreciation goes to Sister Jiivadevi, whose warm relationship with neighborhood families has helped create a supportive and welcoming atmosphere for the children and parents alike. Her contribution as a liaison and caregiver has been invaluable to the success of the program.
