Women’s Wellness and Service Activities in Northern Mexico

Under the dedicated guidance of Avtk. Ánanda Siddheshvarii Ácáryá, RSL for the Mexico City and Panama City Regions, meaningful women’s wellness and service activities continued throughout Northern Mexico during the month of March.

Two special women’s wellness programs were organized, introducing participants to the benefits of ásanas, Kaośikii, relaxation, kiirtana, and meditation, followed by introductory talks and healthy vegan refreshments. The programs were warmly received, and several participants later returned for regular classes. Women undergoing cancer treatment also participated and greatly benefited from the opportunity to relax, reduce fear and stress, and reconnect with inner peace. One program was held at the Ananda Marga Yoga Center, while the other took place in a student’s office, where yoga was offered to employees to encourage a healthier and more harmonious lifestyle.

Weekly service also continued at a women’s Narcotics Anonymous rehabilitation center, where yoga and relaxation sessions are offered every Wednesday. Most of the residents are teenagers undergoing a six-month rehabilitation program, and these practices have proven deeply helpful in supporting relaxation, emotional healing, and self-discovery. In recognition of this service, the work was featured in March on the local news channel Hoy Coahuila, helping raise awareness for young women facing addiction recovery.

The spirit of service extended further through a collection drive organized with yoga students to assist the Galilea children’s home after severe flooding. Food, essential supplies, and school uniforms were collected and delivered. Meals are also periodically prepared and offered to low-income patients at Pape Hospital, continuing the practical expression of compassionate service in the community.
