YOGA TEACHER TRAINING IN THE TRIAD

Namaskar, and salutations!

We are delighted to announce that the Shiva Dancing School of Yoga (RYS-200) has received its registration from Yoga Alliance for training teachers in the Rajadhiraja/Ananda Marga style. Classes will be at the home of Acarya Pashupati Steven Landau MD at 1004 Hammel Road in Greensboro, NC 27408.

Dates of training will be August 7 through 16, 2018. Training sessions will last from 9 am to 9 pm daily.  Similar classes have been taught with excellent feedback and results in Kolkata, Puri, and Greensboro.

Ananda Marga/Rajadhiraja Yoga includes Karma (action), Bhakti (devotion) and Jiñana (knowledge). Ananda Marga means “Path of Bliss”, and this style includes over 40 asanas and mudras, self-massage, meditation, dance, diet, philosophy, anatomy, physiology, ethics, and kirtan (chanting). We will include techniques from other styles, as well as discussions on the Business of Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Children’s Yoga, Geriatric Yoga, Safety in Yoga, and Foreign Mission Yoga. We expect also to visit a Children’s Yoga class and a Geriatric Yoga class taught by Acarya Pashupati.

Motivated beginners who wish to deepen their practice are welcome to join us. Drop ins are free. Physical condition is not a barrier to successful yoga training, and in fact, we welcome those who are physically limited so that others in the class can learn how to adjust asanas to meet the needs of those less able.

Our curriculum will also include music theory, singing lessons, guitar and harmonium and drum lessons as needed to make the prospective teacher competent to play simple kirtans and bhajans (devotional songs). Some Sanskrit and Bengali songs will be taught, along with English, Spanish and Hebrew.

Participants who complete the program will be eligible to be Certified as teachers, and depending on prior Ananda Marga training or subsequent retreat attendance, will qualify for Yoga Alliance recognition as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200).

Tuition will be $1800 per person, either up front or in 4 installments. Scholarships will be made available to deserving students. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Lodging will be comfortable and free for those traveling from afar. Current Ananda Marga Acaryas and LFT’s may attend for free, and would be asked to help out with their food provisions.

It has been my privilege to be a member of the Yoga Alliance Board of Directors from 2002 to 2008. Prospective students are invited to request my full CV, a DVD which we produced entitled “Yoga for All,” and to call me to arrange a meeting. I will also be happy to send brochures and flyers. “Pashupati (Steven Landau) has a wealth of knowledge from his many years of studying and experience.  But one of the things that makes him a great teacher is his excitement in sharing this information. He’s truly interested in helping his students become all they are meant to be — physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Whether he is teaching anatomy, teaching how to teach an asana, playing his guitar and leading kirtan, listening to students’ problems, or discussing the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, he is right “at home.”  It’s a delight to be in his class and to learn from someone who is a true yogi and child of God.”

Namaskar,
