On 14 April 2026, a special conference was organized at the United Nations in New York City by the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations to commemorate the 135th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
The theme of the conference was “Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s Vision of Constitutional Morality and its Relevance for Multilateralism.” The event brought together ambassadors, diplomats, NGO representatives, members of civil society, scholars, intellectuals, and distinguished guests from various countries. More than 100 participants attended the program.
The conference was addressed by Ambassador Mr. Parvathaneni Harish, representative of the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations. Distinguished panelists included Mr. De Raja Sekhar Vundru, IAS, Chief Secretary to the Government of Haryana, Transport Department, and Assistant Professor Dr. Santosh I. Raut. The speakers delivered insightful lectures on the life, philosophy, and contributions of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, particularly his historic role in framing the Constitution of India and promoting social justice, equality, and constitutional values.
Ananda Marga was also invited to participate in this prestigious international conference. Acarya Abhiramananda Avadhuta represented Ananda Marga at the event and interacted with ambassadors, NGO leaders, intellectuals, and distinguished delegates. International Day of Vesak at the United Nations on April 30, 2026
On 30 April 2026, the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations organized a special international program at the United Nations in New York City to commemorate the International Day of Vesak under the theme: “Leveraging Buddhist Heritage for Strengthening Global Peace and Cooperation.”
The event was held shortly before the auspicious occasion of Ananda Purnima and brought together more than 150 distinguished participants, including ambassadors, diplomats, scholars, representatives of member states, NGO leaders, civil society members, and spiritual and cultural delegates from many countries.
The program commenced with introductory remarks by representatives of the Indian Mission, followed by welcome remarks from Ambassador Yojna Patel, Charge d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Sachin Chaturvedi, Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University, who spoke on the timeless relevance of Buddhist heritage in promoting peace, harmony, dialogue, and international cooperation.

Ananda Marga at United Nations – Digital Innovation in Migration
On 07 May 2026, the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations hosted an important international conference at Conference Room 6 (CR6) of the United Nations in New York City under the theme: “Leveraging Digital Innovation in Migration Governance – The e-Migrate Experience of India.”
The program focused on the role of digital innovation and technology in improving migration governance, protecting migrant workers, and strengthening international cooperation in migration management. The event brought together diplomats, ambassadors, representatives of governments, NGOs, journalists, civil society members, and international delegates from various countries.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Kirti Vardhan Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs, Government of India. In his address, he highlighted India’s e-Migrate initiative and its contribution toward transparent, efficient, and people-centered migration governance. The discussions emphasized the importance of digital systems in ensuring the welfare, safety, and dignity of migrant communities worldwide.
