Nonprofit Lobby Day was successfully organized at the New York State Legislative Building in Albany on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, where nonprofit organizations from across the state came together to participate in this important civic engagement program.
The event brought together nonprofit board members, legislators, and assembly members to advocate for the passage of key legislation supporting the nonprofit sector. A proposed bill of approximately $64 million in support of nonprofit organizations was presented and discussed during the sessions.
We had meaningful meetings with several Assembly Members, including representatives from Queens and other districts, as well as state senators and additional legislative leaders. The discussions were productive and focused on strengthening collaboration between the government and nonprofit organizations.
We are especially grateful to Amy Paulin for her participation and support during Nonprofit Lobby Day. Her engagement added great value to the program and encouraged continued dialogue on nonprofit funding and community development.
The presence of many nonprofit organizations from across New York State made the event highly impactful. It was a wonderful opportunity for networking, knowledge sharing, and highlighting the work being done by organizations such as Ananda Marga. Through grace and collective effort, our initiatives were well recognized and appreciated.
This event marks an important step forward, and we are hopeful that in the near future, Ananda Marga and other nonprofit organizations will receive strengthened support and grants from New York State through this legislative process.
We express our sincere gratitude to all participating legislators, nonprofit leaders, and supporters who contributed to the success of this meaningful day.
