Meditation Retreat at Ananda Kanak MU, Canada

The summer meditation retreat for beginners, held at the Ananda Kanak Master Unit from August 9 to 11, brought together fourteen participants for a truly enriching experience. The retreat offered a balanced mix of interactive discussions on profound topics like Prama and Neohumanism, along with plenty of Baba Nam Kevalam kiirtan, group meditations, and asana classes. These sessions provided both spiritual depth and practical learning for all involved. Avadhutika Ananda Kalyanmitra Acarya came from the US to guide the sisters and give initiations and lesson reviews. Acarya Dayashiilananda Avadhuta is based at Ananda Kanak Master Unit and took care of the local organizing of the retreat along with LPT brother Nirmal and sister Madhuvidya.

In addition to the structured activities, the retreat included recreational outings, such as a visit to downtown Saint-Andre-Avellin, allowing participants to unwind and enjoy the local area. Many attendees generously contributed high-quality food items, which made for delicious, nourishing meals that were shared in a spirit of community. Overall, it was a joyful and meaningful retreat for everyone involved.

This summer, Acarya Dayashiilananda Avadhuta planted black walnut tree seedlings to enhance the greenery of the area. The garden has also produced some eggplants, contributing to the sustainable cultivation efforts. Additionally, a generous neighbor has offered the use of their greenhouse, further supporting the growth and expansion of the garden’s produce.
