This year’s Online Kaoshikii Divas, organized on September 6, 2024, by Avtk. Ananda Acirá Ac. on behalf of Ananda Marga New York Sector, brought together 45 participants from across the country to celebrate the power and beauty of Kaoshikii. The event was a joyous tribute to this dynamic yogic dance, which empowers the body, mind, and spirit, while fostering a deeper connection within the global spiritual community.
The program began with Dharma Cakra, followed by inspiring speeches on the history of Kaoshikii, sharing how this unique dance—introduced by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti—has transformed the lives of many. Devotees shared personal stories about the profound physical, mental, and spiritual benefits they’ve experienced through regular practice of Kaoshikii, leaving everyone feeling motivated and connected.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the Kaoshikii dance competition, which saw enthusiastic participation from both brothers and sisters. In the sisters’ category, Sister Kaomudi from Texas took first place, followed by Sister Madalasa from California in second, and Sister Svastii from New York in third. Among the brothers, Brother Vishvamitra secured the first prize, with Brother Prasun coming in second. The energy and dedication of each participant was inspiring, showcasing the joy and strength that Kaoshikii brings to practitioners.
The event concluded with a collective Kaoshikii dance, where everyone came together in unity, moving in sync with the rhythm of life and spirituality. This shared experience left the participants feeling deeply inspired, not only by the power of the dance but also by the sense of togetherness it fostered, even in an online setting. In a wonderful continuation of the celebration, Sister Miira from Dallas and Didi Ananda Acirá has taken the initiative to host daily 21-minute Kaoshikii sessions on Zoom, offering everyone the opportunity to continue benefiting from this transformative practice.
The Online Kaoshikii Divas was more than just a celebration of a dance—it was a celebration of empowerment, unity, and spiritual upliftment. This year’s event reminded us all of the strength we can cultivate within ourselves and the joy we can experience when we come together as a spiritual family.
