Ananda Dhiira Master Unit, under the dedicated care of Didi Ananda Acirá, has blossomed into a vibrant hub of activity, community, and growth. This season has been marked by an abundance of garden harvests, joyful volunteer service, and meaningful connections with the surrounding community.
Garden and Harvest: A Bountiful Season
In a small yet fertile patch of land, Ananda Dhiira’s garden has become a source of both nourishment and inspiration. Nearly 50 varieties of vegetables and herbs were planted alongside 25 fruit trees, turning the land into a thriving ecosystem. From late spring to late summer, the garden yielded an impressive bounty of fresh produce. This year, the “Three Sisters” planting method—a traditional Native American technique involving the intercropping of corn, beans, and squash—was introduced for the first time. The results were remarkable, with an abundant harvest that provided plenty of food for the community.
Karma Yoga: Service with a Smile
The spirit of karma yoga—selfless service—has been alive and well at Ananda Dhiira, thanks to a team of devoted volunteers. Under the guidance of Didi Ananda Acirá, individuals such as Brother Mukunda, Sister Jiivadevii, Jack, Harmony, Marie, Abhadevii, Carrington, and Theodore have offered their time and energy to maintain and improve the Master Unit. Their work has included fixing irrigation systems, watering plants, chopping wood, and organizing firewood in the shed. With each task, they brought enthusiasm and joy, demonstrating the power of working together for a higher purpose.

Connecting with the Community: Spreading Support and Compassion
In addition to cultivating the land, Ananda Dhiira has also been cultivating relationships with the local community. Didi Ananda Acirá, along with her volunteers, has partnered with the Interfaith Food Ministry in Grass Valley to assist with food distribution for those in need. This act of service reflects Ananda Dhiira’s commitment to supporting the most vulnerable members of society.
Moreover, the team participated in the “Ready Go Bag Party,” an event organized by Nevada County to prepare residents for wildfire emergencies. This important community initiative distributed essential items like emergency bags, food, water, flashlights, blankets, and radios. Ananda Dhiira’s involvement in this event showcased their dedication to the well-being of the local community, reinforcing the Master Unit’s role as both a spiritual and practical resource for those around them.
A Season of Growth and Gratitude
The past season at Ananda Dhiira has been one of growth—both in the garden and in the hearts of those who have been touched by its spirit of service and connection. Whether through harvesting crops, supporting the community, or working alongside one another in joyful service, Ananda Dhiira continues to embody the values of selflessness, sustainability, and spiritual upliftment. With each season, the Master Unit not only nourishes the body but also nurtures the soul, reminding us all of the beauty of serving others and the profound impact of working together toward a common good.
