From October 11-14, 2024, Ac. Diiptimanananda Avt., Avtk. Ananda Acira Ac., and Brother Maungal Dev organized a hiking and kayaking advenute near Los Altos Hills. Participants explored the regenerating redwoods of Big Basin and kayaked in Monterey Bay, encountering sea otters and seals. The retreat offered serene meditations, connection with nature, and lasting friendships amidst breathtaking scenery.
Brother Mangal Dev, Avt. Ananda Acira Ac. and Ac. Diiptimanananda Avt. organized a hiking and backpacking tour in the Lake Tahoe area, California from July 24 - 28 with the participation of eleven adults, Maungal Dev’s son, and his dog. All participants had previously attended meditation retreats organized by Didi Ananda Acira and Dada Diiptimanananda.
Avadhútika Ánanda Radhiká Ácáryá (Sectorial GV) continued her sustained effort in serving the community, outreach (Pracar) and representing Ánanda Márga in various events in New York, New Jersey, Long Island, and other places.
Ac. Parinirvanananda Avt. spent the summer traveling across the United States, visiting various locations including Florida and Alabama. One of the highlights of his journey was a visit to Huntsville, Alabama, where he met with a group of senior Indian-American scientists, doctors, and professors.
Ananda Marga’s Los Angeles team, led by Acarya Muktatmananda Avadhuta, has expanded its food distribution efforts thanks to a new van, enabling them to serve 2,500 people monthly. The van transports 4,900 pounds of food per trip, helping 20 volunteers provide essential services, including distributing food to the homeless in Skid Row.
A regional retreat for the Philadelphia region was held at the serene Ananda Vrati Master Unit from August 30 to September 1, 2024, bringing together 40 Margiis, Dadas, and Didis for a spiritually uplifting program. The natural beauty of Ananda Vrati, nestled in the heart of nature, provided the perfect backdrop for the retreat, offering participants a peaceful environment for contemplation and devotion.
On June 21, 2024, Ananda Marga representatives, including several Acaryas, participated in the International Day of Yoga Celebrations at the United Nations. This event highlighted yoga’s global significance as a practice for promoting peace, well-being, and unity across cultures. The gathering at the UN emphasized yoga’s universal appeal and its potential to foster harmony in an increasingly divided world.
Ananda Marga’s presence in the New York sector has been marked by active participation in various community events, volunteer initiatives, and educational programs, all aimed at spreading its message of spiritual growth and selfless service. Through the dedicated efforts of volunteers, the organization continues to make meaningful contributions across the region.
