Nestled in Denver, Colorado, the historic Women’s Welfare Department (WWD) building, dating back to 1891, serves as a sanctuary for economically disadvantaged women. Last summer, Avtk. Ananda Aparajiita Ac. and Avtk. Ananda Kalyanmitra Ac. renovated a long-unused space within the building, transforming it into a cozy, welcoming home for a single mother and her child. The project included extensive repairs, flooring upgrades, and privacy enhancements, providing a safe, supportive environment for those in need.
From August 2-4, 2024, Ananda Marga Canada held a summer seminar at SAJO, near Ananda Kanak MU, with participants from Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto. The event featured spiritual learning, Katha Kiirtana, Dharma Cakras, and peaceful activities like nature walks and kayaking, creating a deeply devotional atmosphere.
Ananda Dhiira Master Unit, led by Didi Ananda Acirá, flourished this season with a bountiful garden harvest, volunteer-driven karma yoga, and deep community engagement. Nearly 50 vegetable varieties were grown, and volunteers contributed joyfully. The unit also partnered with local initiatives, reflecting its commitment to service, sustainability, and spiritual upliftment.
Ananda Dhiira recently participated in the Psychic Healing Art Fair held in Grass Valley and Sacramento, California, creating a valuable opportunity to connect with the local community and network with like-minded organizations. The event was not only a platform for outreach but also allowed Ananda Dhiira to introduce their philosophy and practices to a broader audience.
From October 11-14, 2024, Ac. Diiptimanananda Avt., Avtk. Ananda Acira Ac., and Brother Maungal Dev organized a hiking and kayaking advenute near Los Altos Hills. Participants explored the regenerating redwoods of Big Basin and kayaked in Monterey Bay, encountering sea otters and seals. The retreat offered serene meditations, connection with nature, and lasting friendships amidst breathtaking scenery.
Brother Mangal Dev, Avt. Ananda Acira Ac. and Ac. Diiptimanananda Avt. organized a hiking and backpacking tour in the Lake Tahoe area, California from July 24 - 28 with the participation of eleven adults, Maungal Dev’s son, and his dog. All participants had previously attended meditation retreats organized by Didi Ananda Acira and Dada Diiptimanananda.
Avadhútika Ánanda Radhiká Ácáryá (Sectorial GV) continued her sustained effort in serving the community, outreach (Pracar) and representing Ánanda Márga in various events in New York, New Jersey, Long Island, and other places.
Ac. Parinirvanananda Avt. spent the summer traveling across the United States, visiting various locations including Florida and Alabama. One of the highlights of his journey was a visit to Huntsville, Alabama, where he met with a group of senior Indian-American scientists, doctors, and professors.
